Out of love for dogs, cats and any other pet. I have loved pets and animals since the beginning of my own time. And, I was lucky enough to have married a man who also loves pets. We have had an assortment of dogs in our life, and rabbits, and birds. From two little dogs when we first married to three big ones when my husband became disability retired. And now we are down to two big ones. One of those wonderful dogs, a black lab, is 3 1/2 year old Shorty, our adopted dog. My heart hurts when I know so many dogs are abandoned, lose their owners, get lost themselves, or simply are not wanted anymore.
